Hypnotists: Take Advantage of Free Listings

In the never-ending quest to be recognized as a hypnotist or hypnotherapist and to get your business name in front of customers, utilize free listings.  The best way to find them is to do a search for professional hypnosis directories or listings.  Put your name and information in any free directory.

In addition to your website, you should have your hypnosis business name listed on at least the following sites:

  • Google My Business
  • Yelp for Business
  • Linked In
  • Facebook

These listings can lead potential customers to your website and to the products and services you offer.  Make sure to provide lots of rich content, blog posts and offers to have them coming back for more.

You can also put in competitor’s business names and see where they are listed.  If you are listing your business, do NOT put a listing and leave out the details.  Fill the profile out in it’s entirety so you present a professional image and have credibility.

Spend the necessary time and attention on your business and you and your business will reap the benefits later.  View our Hypnotist Directory here.

Business Priorities and Your Daily Routine

Set Your Daily Business Priorities

As the owner of your hypnosis business, you wear many hats.  Even if you have a support team, it is very easy to get distracted and not accomplish your goals for the day.  The business owner’s main focus is to produce income.  If the task is not producing income, then it should become a secondary task or it should be outsourced or delegated.

One of the best ways I have worked to keep my focus is my master list.  I keep this master list that contains everything that comes to mind that I need to do.  That list is kind of a brain dump.  It helps me to write things down as I think of them.  It also helps me to cross things off after I’ve accomplished those tasks.

Every day, I choose the top five things I need to do.   It is so easy for you to get sidetracked with emergencies or other things that arise.  Even if you do have to stop for a short time, your top five list helps you to get your focus back on the daily action steps you need to accomplish.

One additional thing I do is to put the thing I want to do least (or that I’m dreading) at the top of the list.  Then I avoid procrastination and my day is much more productive.

I have made a simple Top Priority List for your day.   Enjoy and let me know your feedback!

Five Ways to Get Started as a New Hypnotist

You've been trained.  Where do you begin?  The best place to start is at the beginning.  Creating a solid foundation from the beginning with clarified goals and good practices will help you to start and grow your hypnosis business.

Your ideal business is personal.  Create a mission and vision statement.

Mission statements define the purpose of the business and the objectives. These statements are set in the present tense and explain why you exist as a business, both to members of the organization and to those outside it. Mission statements tend to be short, clear and powerful.

Vision statements also define the purpose, but they focus on the goals and aspirations of the organization.  These statements are designed to be uplifting and inspiring. The statements are timeless.  Generally speaking, even if the organization changes its strategy, the vision will often stay the same.

  1. Create a business plan:  Likely, if you had a good instructor, you have created a business plan.  Even if it changes slightly, you need a plan.  You wouldn't tell a builder to build you a house and not have a plan about what you want.
  2. Decide what you want to do and where you want to do it.  You do not have to make a business based on the model of what someone else did.  What unique selling point do you bring to your business?  What can you offer clients that is unique to you?
  3. Pick what you will LOVE to do!  Stick to what you love.  If you hate conducting group workshops, don't do them.  It's easier to get excited about doing things you love.
  4. Make an effective website!  You can hire a designer or do it yourself, but make sure you get do your homework.  Again, you need to plan based on the business you are building, it needs to be functional, you need to promote it and maintain it.  I am presenting at the VIRTUAL CONVENTION and you can find my presentation here.
  5. Work on any blocks to your success.  You have ALL the tools you need!  If you need additional help in an area, consider hiring a Hypnotist or a Life Coach.

2018 Virtual Hypnosis Convention

Ten Things Every Hypnosis Business Website Needs

Last year I attended the Virtual Convention and I'm excited to be a presenter this year. My presentation is:  Ten Things Every Hypnosis Business Website Needs.  I will focus on the things you need to plan and include on your professional hypnosis website.  See my page for the convention HERE and sign up for the virtual convention HERE.

If you are making a professional hypnosis website, please visit our JOIN US page and see what we have to offer!

Why are virtual conventions so important?  A virtual convention allows us to be open and receive more information that we ever did before...without traveling and within the privacy of our own home or office.  It is limitless...allowing us to find the people we resonate with, new ideas, educational opportunities, continuing education workshops and more.  We are no longer bound by schedules, locations and for some, finances.  It can be the reason you rise higher and work with more people.

Speaking of working with more people....taking your business virtual is today...not the future, today.  Marketing practices have changed drastically and technology is a huge part of it.  So, if you want to be a part of hypnosis business success, it is your responsibility to use the learning experiences available to you and take your business to the next level.

I would like to thank Richard Nongard, Subliminal Science and all the people responsible for the September 15-16 Virtual Convention, 36 Techniques, for their work in bringing hypnotists valuable opportunities for quality continuing education.  And for making it so practical, accessible, interesting and convenient.

Conventions and Continuing Education

There are many opportunities for continuing education for hypnosis.  Many hypnotists hold live workshops and sell online educational material for self-study, providing you with a certificate at the end and the facilitator with a lucrative business.  As you probably know, there are organizations that provide continuing education classes and workshops.

There are so many opportunities for us to grow and learn, but we must take some responsibility and use a business growth mindset to decide what will bring us the business of our dreams.  In addition to seeking information from these sources, start looking for information on your own that coincides with and develops your ideal business.  Use your own creativity and take charge of your future.  One of the great opportunities for learning and growing are conventions.

CONVENTIONS

The NGH holds two conventions:  Solid Gold in Las Vegas (February) and the NGH Convention in Marlborough, MA (August).  Visit ngh.net for additional information.

Life Coach

What kind of challenges have you faced as a hypnotist?  There are many personal and professional issues that come up as we navigate through life and build our ideal business.

Are you confident in your abilities as a hypnotist?  Has an event ever challenged your confidence?

Do you believe there are no customers out there because of your geographic location?  your experience?  your lack of degrees?

Do you allow technology to stop you from organizing your business, your tasks and marketing to the best of your ability?

Have you ever lost track of scripts or been unable to record or send a large audio file?

Is your spouse tired of hearing that your hypnosis hobby will make more money next year?

Do you have antiquated beliefs that hold you back?

Do you have a good work/life balance?

Life coaching with an experienced hypnotist may be just what you need to motivate, inspire and organize you to move forward to achieve your goals.
